Welcome & Hello from Pastor Susan:
It is with excitement that I welcome you to St. Paul United Methodist Church - New Ellenton!
My name is Pastor Susan Pennock and I have been serving this church since July of 2019. I received a warm welcome from the people of St. Paul and have come to love them as if I have known them all my life. I am sure you will as well!
I have returned home to South Carolina after spending most of my adult life in ministry in the North Carolina UMC Conferences. I grew up in Estill and Denmark, South Carolina, and graduated from Francis Marion University with a BS in Mathematics. After years of ministry as a lay person I have been called to pursue ordination orders. I have recently completed a master’s degree from Duke Divinity School and am a provisional member of the South Carolina UMC Conference.
In addition to pastoring at St. Paul I am the Coordinator of Congregations for Children in the Western North Carolina Conference UMC. I have spent the past twenty years engaged in leading community response with children and families impacted by poverty; primarily through church collaboration with public schools.
My husband, Chet, and I have been married for 33 years and we have four children:
CJ (29), Robert (27), Maddee (21), & Mary- Lib (19).
It is a joy to serve the local church and be a part of the work God is doing in and through the lives of the faithful. We would love to have you come and be a part of our journey with God through the ministries of the local church.
Blessings in the name of our Lord!
-Reverend Susan Pennock
